MicroPro™ technology is a revolutionary way to
pressure treat wood for decks, fences, landscaping,
and general construction uses. MicroPro technology offers
many benefits, including significantly improved corrosion
performance. Smart Sense® pressure treated wood
with MicroPro technology exhibits corrosion rates on
metal products similar to CCA pressure treated wood
and untreated wood. MicroPro technology is the copper
based treatment of the future that is available today.
Galvanized protected connectors coated at a G90 level,
or its equivalent (0.90 oz./ft2), and other hardware
and fasteners which meet building codes for exterior
use can be used in direct contact with wood treated
with MicroPro technology, such as Smart Sense treated
wood.

Appearance
Smart Sense treated wood is lighter in color compared
to current copper based treated. The unique appearance
of Smart Sense treated products will help differentiate
the product in the marketplace. The attractive color
allows DIYers and contractors to build pressure treated
objects using treated wood that is lighter, fresher,
and more natural in appearance.
Smart Sense treated wood products are also available
in popular consumer colors similar to redwood and cedar
products with the new MicroShades™ color pigment
system.
Osmose MicroShades is the only pigmented colorant
system that can be used as an “in-solution”
system specifically developed for wood treated with
the MicroPro preservative. Osmose WeatherShield®
water repellent additives are also available with the
new MicroPro copper system.

Services, Inc. Legacy Report - NER# 628, meet all major model
building code requirements.
Pressure Treated Wood of the Future
The new and revolutionary Smart Sense pressure treated wood
offers corrosion characteristics similar to that of CCA pressure
treated wood or untreated wood. Smart Sense is fresher and
brighter with a more modern appearance, plus offers the option
of MicroShades “in-solution” Redwood Red/Brown or
Cedar Honey/Brown color pigments.
State-Of-The-Art Wood Protection
The new MicroPro copper preservative system is the only
new exterior wood preservative system that is EPA approved
(at the appropriate retention level) for Above Ground, Ground
Contact, and Fresh Water applications for Southern Yellow
Pine, Red Pine, and South American Pine species.
